People crash, people die. Its just a little upsetting that one person can affect other peoples lives. Plus this happened very close to where I live. This happened after bike night in Lowell Massachusetts, they have a bike night every Tuesday from 6-9. I usually go anywhere from 6-12 times during the Spring/Summer months.
Last Summer the Mass State troopers showed up to "flex" their muscle because people were reporting bikers leaving and riding like squids. So I wonder what will happen now? Just hope it doesn't bring any heat to the organizers of this bike night.
My thoughts go to the families.

METHUEN, Mass. -- Two motorcyclists were killed in a crash in Methuen on Tuesday night.

Stan Forman

Matthew Phillips, 35, of Wilmington, was riding westbound on Route 110 at about 9:40 p.m. when his motorcycle crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck two other motorcycles and a car.

Phillips died at the scene. Alberto Binet, 30, of Lawrence, was riding one of the other motorcycles, and he was killed in the crash, police said. The third biker sustained minor injuries.

Police said Binet and Phillips did not know each other.

It would be a shame if they used an unrelated accident to put an end to bike night. At the end of the day though I never blame the cops for what they do. For the most part they really believe that what they do is for the greater good. If they come down hard on bikers it's probably because they have seen to many pictures like this.

There used to be bikes all the time at the Streets of Woodfield parking lot in a specific area at night where people would meet up for a ride, to talk, or whatever, pretty much every night (but especially weekends, of course). There'd be in the hundreds on Saturday nights! Well, since there's always assholes who ruin things for everyone else, there's now always multiple cops posted there, and say we'll get tickets for loitering. If you even stand by your bike talking for more than a few minutes, they'll come up and threaten you with towing/tickets and say to either "Buy something or leave"... :notamused:

Basically, we as patrons (they/we bought a LOT of stuff from the stores nearby when we met up -- like the Starbucks and Jamba Juice and Chipotle), are treated as 2nd class citizens. And there's nothing we can do about it... :notamused:

I DO know the stores must have lost A LOT of business that used to be there...

Well the Staties will be out next Tuesday and I'll bet on it. Like I said the police have had a bunch of complaints in the past of speeding, people pulling wheelies, stupid squid stuff like that. Their response the first time around was sending a bunch of them in and video taping and taking pictures of peoples bikes, they even had a helicopter make a couple passes. So I'm sure with this recent tragedy they'll make their presence known.
Problem is that 99% of the people who show up don't pull stupid stuff like that.
