Yep. And I KNOW I put them on correctly and carefully... Both times they've lasted only 1 riding season, and both times I've walked out to my bike to see 1 or both lying on the garage floor. I'm sick of it, so I decided to order some TechSpec Snake Skins this time around to try 'em out.
I decided to go through STG (SportbikeTrackGear.com), since I've ordered a lot through them over the years, and they have always been active at the "other" site. Plus, they've always had good service, IMHO. So, I went to their website, threw in the Snake Skins for me and my buddy's '07 Gixxer-750 (he wanted some too), and tried to order them up. But it said my password was wrong... So I tried resending the pass, but it said I didn't exist. So I tried making a NEW account, but it said my account already existed!!! WTF?!?!?
So I just called, and told the guy (not Nick) that the site wasn't working, and told him who I was and such. He saw I had ordered a buncha crap over the years, and was willing to help out. He was definitely cool (as always at STG), and called up the 2 parts, and the two together ended up being $20 less by calling him up than through the website! Not being able to log-in to order was a blessing in disguise!!! I got both sets of Snake Skins shipped for $77.85!!! :clapclap:
So, we shall see if these hold up any better in the long run. I know they aren't quite as aggressive as the StompGrips, but I don't mind -- as long as they effin' STAY ON... :notamused:
I'll keep this updated, and let you guys know how I feel about them and the difference between the StompGrips.

I never had any problem with them falling off. And I switched them from my street tank to the track tank and back. Maybe its the cold weather? :noclue:

That's what I think. The constant changes in weather around here probably weaken the adhesive. I dunno why else.

You'll love TechSpec great product and great customer service. A friend of mine got them and had a problem with the adhesive. He called them up and before he asked for a new set they told him he had just sent an entire new set out while they were talking. He received them two days later.

LOL! Yeah they are... But they worked so damn well! TOO well, as a matter of fact... My inner thighs would hurt from being rubbed raw after only like 100 miles.

That's cool that they do that for people. I just re-bought the StompGrips through Stabby's Group Buy last time. Hopefully I won't have trouble with the adhesive on these, too. I have to go spend time getting rid of the residue from the StompGrips... :notamused:

I'm not big on bike mods but I will admit that I have the Tech Specs on mine and I really like them. They made a huge difference grip-wise and I have never had issues with them coming away from the tank.
Perhaps Scott has a point about the cold weather? I've had issues with adhesives not staying "stuck" in extreme cold.

I called them last week, and they said they were still on backorder, and they had like 40 orders backed up and waiting. He said they were supposed to come and I'd have them by the middle of this week. When I originally ordered them, they said it would be 2 weeks. It has been 3. I dunno what is up with TechSpec...

I think I saw a bunch of folks posting at the other place bitching about the back ordered Snake Skin.
FWIW, I have dealt directly with them before, they made a set for my old Hyper and they had them to me in no time at all. They cut me a deal seeing as they wanted photos to populate their website.
When I ordered them directly for the Speed 3 I got a little bit of a run around. They billed me after calling to confirm the billing details etc, then they didn't ship them due to a data entry screw up, then suddenly they were out of material. That really kinda sucked as to that point I could not fault them at all.
Still a great product though.

Called STG just now (again), and they contacted TechSpec (again), and TechSpec said they were shipping out the 675 SnakeSkins this Friday (again)... The 675 SnakeSkins apparently seem to be the only ones taking this long... Screw you TechSpec.......
By the time I get them (assuming I get them next week), it will have been 5 WEEKS!!! Fuckin' half the summer riding season out here... :nomore:

Grand Total? 4 weeks and 4 days.
They just arrived at my door. Just in time for the fucking FABULOUS weather we've been having lately (rain, highs only in the 60's and 70's, rain, lows in the 50's, rain)... :nomore:

having had em on my bike for a few weeks now...the verdict??
kinda can't make up my mind. i like em in normal traffic but they sorta get in the way during fast riding. when i'm turning i like to make little adjustments etc, get my body in the best position while turning. they sorta make that more difficult cos i have to physically lift my leg to move it...juries still out for me
